On the Road with Reba

September 2, 2008

I am a terrible blogger! My friends tell me that I should just talk about life.  Well for me that is difficult.  I don’t have an exciting life to speak of so there never seems to be anything to write about.  I sleep and eat and work.  And in between those exciting moments I wait in airports or drive a car in traffic.  Now don’t get me wrong, I actually love my life.  I love the part where I get to speak to women and I get to hear their stories.  I love all the things that make up my daily existence but I have to be honest, I am not sure what to say about it in my blog.

Take today for instance.  I got up this morning and had my time with the Lord.  Then I started studying and preparing for messages that I will be delivering over the next few months.  I did this until I got hungry so then I had a bowl of cereal.  At noon I stood up and stretched and moved to my computer where I took care of some ministry details and then started writing for my next book project.  Two hours later I stood up again and grabbed a quick bite of lunch as I headed out the door for a dentist appointment.

It is now 8:00 pm and I am back at my computer again.  (I have been here since around 7ish).  I will probably call it quits somewhere around 10pm and start all over again tomorrow.

So I call on all of you that are experienced in the world of blogging – help me out – what about this is blog worthy?

I am 25% Mexican.  Well not really but sort of.  I love Mexican food.  It has become an important staple to my diet thus I need some stapling of my stomach.  I am so grateful for my wonderful friends south of the border who have brought all their wonderful spicy dishes to Chattanooga.  When I am on the road, I usually don’t get Mexican food so I am going through withdrawals by the time I get back to Chattanooga.  I have a favorite restaurant in Chattanooga and I look forward to getting back to Amigos as soon as I get my suitcase unpacked.  It’s really ridiculous.  I would love to make Mexican food at home that tasted really good but so far I can’t duplicate my favorite restaurant.  If you have any great recipes for Mexican at home let me know.  And by the way, just so we are clear, Taco Bell is not a Mexican restaurant.
