Meet the Team at Dare for More Ministries
It takes so many people working behind the scenes to make this ministry work efficiently. I could never do all this alone. Over the past 2 years, God has sent some wonderful help to the ministry and I would like to take this opportunity for you to meet them. I don’t know why I am just thinking to do this now. I really should have done it a long time ago but better late than never I guess. I hope you will enjoy this opportunity to get to hear their stories and get to know them a little better. The first person I would like to introduce you to is Lisa Potter. It is hard to give Lisa a job title because she does so much for DFM. She handles all of Reba’s scheduling, meeting details, and keeps Reba in line as much as that is possible. She also manages the website, enters all the bookkeeping and data entry information, and makes sure that all the little details are getting done. She is a gifted speaker in her own right. She teams up with Reba speaking at events, conducts teen workshops, and is currently teaching a weekly Bible study in Silverdale Prison here in Chattanooga. God has given her a true servant’s heart. She is a joy to work with and a great asset to DFM. Currently, Lisa works another full-time job in addition to this ministry. Please pray with us that God will supply the ministry needs so that we can begin to pay her a full-time salary.
A Word from Lisa: The first time I heard the Gospel was two weeks before my 21st birthday. I was searching for something but did not know what it was. My life was out of control in so many ways—I had no idea where I was going or what I was doing, I was making bad choice after bad choice. A new friend invited me to church and there I heard the message that would draw me to Christ. The pastor spoke about how Jesus would never leave me or forsake me. It was what God knew my hurt, broken, and untrusting heart needed to hear. That day I accepted Christ as my Savior. As I began to grow as a Christian I knew God wanted me in full-time ministry. At that time I did not know where or what that meant. I went to a Christian college and graduated with a degree in Youth Ministry. After college I was still unsure of exactly what God wanted me to do. He still had much to teach me and I had much to learn before I would find my place in ministry. God moved me to several different places, each of which He used as a training ground to teach me things He knew I needed. I was on staff at a summer camp, on staff at my church, and then a nanny. While I was working at the camp I met Reba. Over the next few years we kept in touch and I was excited to see what God was doing in Reba’s life and ministry. As God would have it, we connected again at a mutual friend’s wedding. We spent that evening talking about life, ministry, and what God was doing in our lives. God used that evening’s conversation to begin a stirring in my spirit. Over the next few months God confirmed what He began that evening. He clearly showed me that I was to step out in faith and help Reba in her ministry. As I told Reba how I felt God was leading, she shared with me how she had been praying for God to send someone to help. I had no idea how she was praying but God did! It was amazing to watch God do so many miraculous things in the process of moving me from Missouri to Chattanooga, Tennessee. I have been here for two years now and what an amazing journey it has been! God has been so good to me. I count it a great honor and privilege to serve Him in this ministry. To God be the glory!
