Meet Brandi
Finances are such a big part of any ministry. It takes a special person to be able to work accurately and creatively with finances and we have one of those people at RBM. Brandi Johnson has been with the ministry since it’s inception. She is incredibly gifted at budgeting and all aspects of the financial end of the ministry. She takes her job very seriously and has protected the ministry many times along the way by giving sound financial advice. She assists me in setting the ministry budget, she keeps up with our bookkeeping, and she helps me plan for major projects by providing cost analysis. As many of you already know, Brandi is more than just a financial whiz. God brought her into my life when she was just seventeen years old. God knit our hearts and our lives and we have been family ever since. Through the years I have watched her grow into such a wonderful young woman. You can’t be around her long before you realize that she loves her Savior and she loves her family. Brandi is married to Brandon Johnson and they have four wonderful boys. God has given Brandi a special heart for ministering to others and her compassion and willingness to go the extra mile make her a blessing to so many. I am so very proud of the woman of God that she has become. A word from Brandi: The story of my life is an interesting one full of many twists and turns. So many things I still do not completely understand. I was born and raised in Michigan. My parents did not know the Lord and were involved in many things that kept our family moving. I attended twelve different schools in twelve years. Needless to say my life was a little crazy. When I was ten years old I was invited to church. I went because I thought I could cause trouble. While I was there the pastor’s wife invited me back to Sunday school. I loved school and I thought this was school on Sunday so I was all for it. I soon began to hear the stories of Jesus and His love for me and I prayed and accepted Christ as my Savior. I went home excited to tell my parents what I had learned but I found it only angered them. I was not allowed to attend church again for a very long time. I often tell people that God taught me about Him and His Word during those important years when I had no one. At the age of thirteen years old the state of Michigan removed me from my home and for the next few years I lived with different people. God brought some wonderful Christian people in my life between my junior and senior year of high school. Shortly after that, I went off to Christian college. It was there I met Reba for the first time. She was the Dean of Women at the University. The next few years were filled with change and growth as I settled down for the first time in my life. During my senior year I met Brandon Johnson and began to make plans for the future. Brandon and I were married the summer after graduation. Today Brandon is a sales representative for Orgill, a hardware distributor, and we live in Murray, Kentucky. God has blessed us with four boys over the span of five and a half years: Taylor, Luke, Caleb and Zach! I am a stay-at-home mom and that allows me to help Brandon with his job and stay actively involved in RBM. I love the opportunity I have to work with RBM. I enjoy working with numbers and finances and count it a real joy to be able to take my gifts and help the ministry. I am thankful for the journey that God has taken me on and find it amazing that He has brought me full circle to a point that I can be a part of a ministry that is reaching out to girls and women all over – some of whom who are hurting and experiencing things similar to what I have been through. Beyond that, God continues to give me life experiences…usually through the antics of my four sweet yet somewhat mischievous boys… that allow me to add more dimensions to a ministry that God is so greatly using!
