March 2008

March 24, 2008

Well, March has been a crazy month for me.  I have been traveling so much I have left my suitcase open at the end of my bed.  I have had flights cancelled, delayed, and overbooked but God has been good.  This has been a big month for ministering to teens.  Every week I have had the great privilege to meet with teenagers and talk about things that are important to them.  I am encouraged to meet many who desire a walk with God that changes their walk in life.  My Facebook account and e-mail have been buzzing with teenagers excited about what God is doing in their lives.

This is my last week working at my church.  As many of you are aware, I have been working at my church, Calvary Baptist in Chattanooga, for the past four years.  My pastor, Steve Roberson, has been great to let me travel and minister all around the world and still work at the church.  Although I love my church, my heart is in the ministry God has given me.  That is why I am so excited to see the ministry grow to the point that I have to step out full time.  It’s a faith of step, as everything always is, but I am thrilled to have the time and opportunity to do the things that God has burdened my heart with.

April is going to be another busy month with every weekend booked.  Please pray that God will give me the strength I need and the health to continue to minister.

March 3, 2008     For all the Gatlinburg girls

Did we have fun or what?  I am still amazed over the goodness of God this past weekend.  What an exciting time to see God work in miraculous ways.

It was such a dream to launch out and host our very own retreat.  As I stood at the back and watched a packed room of women stand and sing praises to the Lord, I couldn’t help but shake my head.  God did it all.  We had 10 states represented and 304 in attendance.  God was so good to us.  And the fish lived!  All 19 of them made it through the entire retreat and are swimming in good homes as I write this note.  Glory!

I was more excited that He met with us.  Regardless of how many came and where they came from, it would have all been in vain unless He came.  I have spent these past few days reading emails from women whose hearts were moved to Dare for More and get Out of the Bowl and Chase a few Lions.  It has been so encouraging to hear their stories.  I hope to share some of their stories with you in days to come (with their permission of course!).  It is thrilling to see God do a work in hearts and lives that only He can do.  I pray He allows us to turn our worlds upside down for His glory in days to come.

I have to share this with you because it so moved me.  One of the ladies who won a bag stood at the back of the room and just wept as she was selecting her bag.  I asked her if she was okay and she just replied, “Tears of joy!”  I found out later that this woman had prayed that God would let her win a bag and she had told the Lord if she won it, she would give her pastor’s wife the diamond necklace as a remembrance of this journey.  Her tears were tears of generosity!  She presented her pastor’s wife the necklace and then proceeded to put the names of each lady that came with their group on a slip of paper.  She drew their names and let them take one thing each from the gift bag.  The lady that shared this story with me said she was not even sure she got anything herself.  Wow!  You know God has done a work in your life when you are giving up your diamond necklace!  This lady’s unselfish act blessed me so much because it was such a demonstration of a person who is already out of the bowl.  She is living life in a place that many people cannot understand – the Holy Wild!

I am tired and still recovering but it was such a ride.  I feel like I have just skied a black diamond.  I am tired and a little sore, but I still have a grin on my face from the adventure!
