June 2008
June 10, 2008 What do you do on Saturday? This Saturday was my Saturday with no meetings and no scheduled events in quite awhile. I began thinking about it on Friday as I was working at the office. What would I do with the whole day? I tried to remember what I used to do on Saturday – but I couldn’t, it was too long ago! I thought about all the things I should be doing. Don’t you hate the “should be doing” list? I thought of drawers that needed organizing and laundry that needed doing but I quickly dismissed those things. You are going to think I am lying, but as sure as I am typing this my phone rang in the middle of those horrible cleaning thoughts and my friend Margaret invited me to go swimming. I told her I would think about it and then I quickly found my bathing suit and towel. It was great. I spent 3 or 4 hours on Saturday at the pool. It was way too hot to sit out in the sun so I swam laps and played crazy games with Margaret and her kids. I actually went down the waterslide. (As I was sliding down I wondered why I used to think this was so great. It was then I realized I was sounding like an old woman.) It was a wonderful time and I am so glad my friend called. My “should be doing list” is still growing but maybe I will think about it next Saturday – doubtful! Time is passing quickly and before you know it things change. So do something fun every once in awhile—you won’t regret it! Reba Leave a Comment
